When I woke up on Saturday to see the sun shining for the 8th day in a row after the snow we had last week, I was more than happy- I was thrilled that I was going to be shooting a sunny wedding on one of my favourite beaches! The light always inspires me in Tofino and some days the creativity seems to last all day.
It was my first wedding at Cox Bay Beach Resort and I have to say the place is awesome. The architecture is really unique and lends itself well to a photographic backdrop and it’s only seconds to the beach. Suzanne Ryles with West Coast Weddings and Events was the wedding co-ordinator for the event and she was readily on hand to make sure everything was running smoothly. Local Anglican Minister Joan Scandrett beautifully officiated the wedding.
Jered and Robyn were really fun to hang out with for the day. They were super easy-going and adventurous. Their photo shoot felt more like I was hanging out with old friends rather than people I had just met. It was difficult to choose just a few to post here but I think these give a good representation of the variety of angles and backdrops we worked with.
I will never get tired of this view of Rosie’s Bay and Chesterman’s Beach!
I had spoken with Robyn about how we could make her photographs extra special and she suggested they could use classic vintage props. Love it! After a good trek through the rainforest and on the beach, we had a hat session and shared some good laughs. Thanks Jered and Robyn for your creative energy and and for sharing such a special day with me. May my photography bring you back to Tofino and your day for many years to come. Cheers!!
